Nelson Flatfish's Magical Collages

Today I went to The Great Endangered Fish Race at Selfridges. My flatmate works for House of Fairy Tales and organised this event to help raise awareness of the threats to the oceans from over-fishing and pollution.

There are a number of stations set up, with mermaids, sailors and pirates, even a corrupt scientist the children have to argue with. At this one, Nelson Flatfish, the Shipwrecked Hermit, gets the children (and adults) to cut contrasting images from books and magazines and put them together in a collage, to help them see and think about the issues in a different way.
