Reflections

Definitely a very long meander today and it's the price we pay for living in such a scenic, out of the way place. We had to go over to Inverclyde Hospital for a specialised treatment not available in our neck of the woods so it was a 4 hour round trip for a half hour treatment .

Still it was a beautiful day , the sun shone, the sky was blue with puffball clouds most of the time apart from on our way round to Inveraray , our first port of call on the way down. Storm clouds gathering on the hills behind with beautiful sunshine lighting up the row of houses beside the jail.
After that it was perfect all the way down to Ciairndow and up the Rest and Be Thankful. A lovely , clear run down Loch Lomond and then wonderful views from the Erskine Bridge looking both up and down the River Clyde.

I had forgotten all the interesting buildings in Greenock and we had a wander round the Customs House Quay where I got shots of the Customs House, the wonderful old clock and also shots across to Helensburgh and Dumbarton. Caught a glimpse of the Waverly in the dry Dock for repairs. We could still see clearly the sugar boat which went down in the early 70s, still there half submerged.

Off course we always make maximum use of any long trips away so the monthly shopping was done and John is now looking very handsome sporting his trendy haircut from his favourite barber in Dumbarton, as well as catching up with all the latest goings on there , and yes Campbell ( An Old Cynic )we will be down for the Sons big day on Saturday , should be a lot of fun with lots of blip opportunities.

Can't believe the weather held out and we were able to stretch our legs after that long drive, taking Oscar out for a long walk ending up giving him a real workout on the shore- we threw stones for him to fetch while we rested on some big rocks.

So tonight my favourite shot is the first one I took and I'm sure you will all recognise it as one of Richard's places.
