Sport's Day

Charis is in Primary 1 at Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis ~ to the non~Gaeli speakers, that in Inverness Gaelic Prrimary School. Like many language schools around the world, it is full immersion ~ they are not allowed to speak English at school. We are incredibly proud of how well Charis has progressed through nursery and Primary 1.

Today it was school sports. I used to hate my sports days! I liked gym and especially running, but wasn't particularly good at it! Charis adores gym at school, so was really looking forward to today ~ she didn't win, but she didn't care, she just enjoyed doing each event with her friends! Thankfully I got out of the mother's race due to Niamh's clingyness ... but ran with Niamh in the toddler's race. Hopefully we didn't embaress Charis too much!

This evening Charis's Taekwondo studio, Mair's Black Belt Academy, moved, so that was another big thing for her! Was so cute watching her spar with her peers! She is so unagressive, but I surmise that will come! They all adore their teacher, Mikey, and he has an amazing way with the kids! It took so long to find something that she completely adores, but Taekwondo is very much her thing! It is wonderful to see the children disciplined to observe courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control and to have indomitable spirit. We will be forever indebted to Mikey for not just teaching Charis these valuable lessons, but for giving her the confidence to overcome bullying at school, the confidence to believe in herself, and to believe in her own self worth.
