8:30pm.

Out visiting with Glenn and (hopefully) Colin at Glenn's house. Glenn took great delight in showing me his cable box with me. Such a boy thing to do.

In the cable box was a couple of old iPods (well, when i say old, they are under 10 years old). I'd been reflecting recently on the rate of technological change - and how quickly we've gone from 25mHz processor-powered computers to handheld smartphones with 40 times that capacity. And here's a firm example of the rapid rate of change (and of marketing products for obsolescence...).

The iPod nano on the left has 8GB of data storage and has a full colour display. The one on the left is 5GB and a monochrome display.

And it's also interesting to see how apple have kept some design features consistent while others (the typeface) have changed.
