Gillipaw's Journal

Pollok House, Glasgow, Scotland

A beautiful blue sky day and a long walk around Pollok Country Park. We first visited the Burrell Collection. I have never been on an organised tour here before, although I visit the Collection regularly. I learnt many new things, particularly about some of the ceramics and tapestries.

Then off to search for Highland Cattle. We were unsuccessful, I think they must have been seeking the shade in the far corner of the meadow.

We walked on to the gardens at Pollok House, the ancestral home of the Maxwell family, built around 1750. It was lovely to sit in the sunshine and enjoy one of my favourite places.

Very busy time : Backblips for 31 May and 1 June start here.
