2011 Challenge : Looking In : New Victoria Gardens

A walk around Maxwell Park and Pollokshields today with my friends. We were given a very special opportunity for a look inside the New Victoria Gardens, a set of 60 allotments established around 1871 - they are kept closed and only accessible to owners. All unique, this one particularly caught my eye with the old umbrella hanging on the fencing.

I learnt that for the last 111 years, there has been an Open Day here on the last Saturday in August ... I may well be back.

We then headed for the Hidden Gardens at the Tramway, a good place to go for a coffee and to enjoy the flowers and trees there.
