I'm not coming in...

and you can't make me!

Why is it Lola always asks for the door to be opened, then refuses to come through it?

Cat Rule #226

To get a door opened, stand on your hind legs and hammer it with your forepaws and/or yowl. Once the door is opened, it is not necessary to use it. After you have ordered an "outside" door opened, stand halfway in and out and think about several things. This is particularly important during very cold weather, rain or snow. Protest if the human uses a foot to "encourage" you to leave. This works just as well when entering through an outside door.

Ahh, it's all becoming clear now.

By the way, we have three cat flaps enabling kitty access to most of the house. Tenancy rules dictate, no cat flaps in the front door due to security reasons (cat burglars one presumes). Of course, sod's law dictates this will be the only door the cats wish to enter and exit via.

I can also be safe in the knowledge that I have now confirmed my neighbours worst fears about living next door to a raving crackpot.

It's not everyday you pull onto your drive to see your neighbour, the one you've had concerns about ever since she moved in two years previously, lying prostrate in the doorway with their arse in the air, taking several pictures of the cat on the other side.

Almost as concerning as the time they caught me hiding behind the hedge in the hope of snapping some blue tit fledglings.
