Doing Things Differently

Eyemouth to St Abbs

The forecast said that this was going to be the best day of the week, so we caught the bus to Eyemouth and walked the four and a half miles back to the house in St Abbs, via the coastal path.

As you can see, the views were stunning all the way. This is Linkim Shore, where we stopped for lunch. A huge expanse of bay with sand and rockpools, which you get to by walking down a valley that reminds us very much of a Devon combe. On the right you can see the village of Coldingham, which has a very pretty but popular bay, and just on the far right, St Abbs.

As we ate, we shared this vast area with only one other couple, well away from us, and large numbers of Linnet and Whitethroat, singing their heads off! We even heard another Quail, in the fields just outside of Eyemouth. Like buses, none for ages, then two come along in quick succession!
