A time for everything

Swan

Sunday
This afternoon we went for a walk round Moore Nature Reserve, which consists of five large lakes surrounded by extensive woodland, meadows and wetlands, with a network of paths and bird hides. The bird hides came in useful, as we hadn't been there long before it started to rain! There was a duck family and Canada goose family and a black swan besides the numerous mute swans. It's always so nice going to these sort of places with Janet, as she is a keen bird watcher, and can identify a lot of the other birds we wouldn't be sure of. We'd recently bought ourselves a new pair of binoculars, so we gave them a good workout! The rain eventually stopped and by the time we left the sun was out!
