Puddles

You can tell how hard it has rained recently by the soil-tainted pond water that has pooled on the bottom row of petals of this water lily. From the looks of it, the rain bounced off the water in the marsh and collected in the depressions on the lily petals. We have had some heavy rainfall, and the temperatures have yo-yoed (if that's a word) from 60-95 degrees...just in the past few days. This evening the thermometer reads a cool 65 degrees Fahrenheit. It's almost sweater weather.
