Medieval stone church of Tuulos

We travelled back home from Tampere today. During our visit the weather was so warm (almost 30 C/ 86 F) that during the Sauna Open Air festival at times it almost felt like the name was meant to be taken literally. Despite the heat I enjoyed the event - many of the gigs were excellent, the atmosphere was nice and the area wasn't as cramped as I feared. Well worth the money spend, I reckon. However, as we drove home today, at one point it literally poured water and/or hail and the weather got progressively colder as we approached home. Now it's only about 10 C/50 F in here.

The first stop on our long drive home was the Tuulos medieval church. As we came to the churchyard to take a closer look the local folks had finished their church service and were having coffee in another building on the premise. They invited us to join them and before we left we had even bought some of the leftover pasties, cake and biscuits! Another interesting stop during our drive was the Vääksy canal and it's surroundings.
