Hokitika Beach

A beautiful day dawned after a lousy night's sleep. We really need to sort out how we sleep in the van.

We headed into town and got a coffee to wake us up. After which we took Cousteau for a walk on the beach. He didn't disgrace himself today and still smelled of Radox for Men when we had finished. Hokitika Beach is a lot wilder than our beach at New Brighton. Today it was a lot milder than it often is, however there was still plenty of surf for this guy and his friends. On the left of this shot he was walking down the beach to a point where it was easier to get out past the break. On the right hand side is the same surfer catching his wave in.

Barking and I went and kayaked on Lake Mahinapua in the afternoon, what a beautiful spot. We are going back tomorrow.
