Spikey balls

A cold, grey & wet day. I've been busy all day and I've got lots of paperwork to complete at home tonight.
Dug into the desparate blip box for today's blip, I've no idea what these are but a few trees around here have lots of them, full of seeds. Does anyone have any idea what they are?

btw I got a reply after my complaint about the cooker, the firm confirmed that cooker will arrive this coming Saturday, and apologise for the drivers attitude but my complaint needs to be sent to the distribution centre, so that is exactly what I'm going to do.
