The Grown Up One

Baby is sleeping very badly again. I say very badly because he always sleeps just badly. To make things worse last night he decided that waking every couple of hours was not enough and thet he was also properly getting up at 5am and woke the whole house up to let us know.

This meant that Toddler was then up. We tried in vain to get him back to sleep and to ignore Toddler but neither was having any of it. They, then, both too tired moaned at us until they went off to nursery

And so the theme for the day was set.

When I picked them up at lunchtime, for Daddy Day, Baby had fallen asleep eating his lunch. Toddler was still eating hers and was reportedly spaced out. I had hoped that they would both sleep straight away in the buggy but only Baby did and it took me about a mile before I could get Toddler to get in the buggy even whilst it was raining.

Toddler and I then argued in and out of a few shops until the raised voices woke baby. Toddler then fell asleep. Tea, the aquarium and a five pound find was on the cards for those of us awake and then we headed for home via the park, even though it was a bit wet, in case any of our friends were there. They wern't though, as they were all sensible enough to stay out of the rain.

Toddler woke on the way and got upset that she had missed the aquarium and then insisted on playing in the empty park on the wet swings. Toddler and I got bored of arguing on the way home and so instead took turns just generally moaning, whilst Baby (the youngest and most mature it would seem) sat back, listened and relaxed.

Once home, we got our wet things off, had a disagreement about who was best equipped to remove a Toddlers shoes, We then put the telly box on and made a truce and found peace whilst we ate our five pounds find worth of yoghurt raisins, fruit bars and licorice until Wife came home.
