Any Ideas?

These two pieces of granite are becoming part of my creative life as I photograph them, sit and draw them, and work at paintings that capture the striping and shape. But what on earth are they, what is their history, and why were they placed along the Ship Canal at such a topsy turvy kind of careless angle. Mystery.
