"Goodbye"

The Mother, going home after lunch, saying goodbye to #1 Daughter who would soon be catching a train home.

The four of us had an hilarious lunchtime comparing how each of us opens a boiled egg and likes the toast done! At the same time we were looking out watching the birds feeding. I was facing away from the bird table and had my camera focused on a branch and the remote release to hand. Only one bird landed.

The Mother is delighted with her new S95 and wanted to catch the woodpeckers on the nuts. I could see them coming and kept telling her to have the camera ready. The excitment got too much and The Daughter had to get her iphone. She'd never taken a shot of a woodpecker before so had to have a go. The Man, having the best seat at the table got his camera too!

The four woodpeckers were easy for the Mother to see and came in rapid succession, what got more dificult was when I would make an announcement about the nuthatch. We don't often get those so I wanted her to get a pic.

So the siskins, house sparrows, tree sparrows, hedge sparrows, redpolls, blue tits, great tits, collared doves, stock doves, woodpigeons, jackdaws, greenfinches, blackbirds, chaffinches, coal tits, goldfinches, and pheasants ate away happily being ignored by us today.
