The epiphany was realising that Blipfoto isn't about photography, it's about my world and my place in it; photography is just the medium for exploring and capturing it. Cartier Bresson said it: "Photography is nothing--it's life that interests me." The danger is that it becomes about something pretty or something narcissistically personal or something you think will please someone else.

I found myself on a railway bridge after several wet miserable days and in the middle of another difficult week working in an NHS that is sagging visibly with every passing day;  there was hardly anyone around, just the tracks converging on infinity in both directions.and the sun came out and there were these miraculous things called shadows on the tracks, and I thought, yes, this is worth it - going for a walk looking for something. And finding it.
