Neptune

Neptune statue at The Civic Centre, Newcastle. The venue for the Wine Festival as part of the EATng Food Festival. Much wine was tasted, one bottle of Moscatel was bought but after an hour and a half it was time for a proper glass of wine and we had to leave, drinking 15ml shots was getting boring.

There was a lot to cram in today as we were meeting Andy and Helen at 6:30pm so after the wine we hit the Laing only to find that the John Martin Exhibition actually ended on the 5th June so I'd missed it by quite a big margin.

At the Chilli and Beer festival we bought some nice fresh chillis (jalepeno, Serrano and a yellow relative to eh jalepeno whose name I can't remember), tasted some aneasthetic vodka, which was basically clove flavoured, I loved it, Jen hated it, I ended up drinking all four shots, one with Fentiman's Dandelion and Burdock which was quite a tasty combnination, and we saw the Chilli eating competition where the winning participants ate 3 whole scotch bonnet on their way to the 800,00 scoville naga final and squeeze one last visit to the street food festival for some tea and to use up our remaining vouchers.

Andy and HElen were due at 6:30pm but arrived at 5:15pm so our evening started early wit a bottle of Bollinger and, quite frankly, it was all downhill from there. By midnight we were dowing rounds of flavoured vodka in Revolution and the girls could hardly walk (but still dance strangely).
