Pre-Fab!

It's hard to blip around Liverpool without including some Merseybeat landmarks, so today's offering shows The Jacaranda on Slater Street.

This coffee bar/club was opened in 1958 by Allan Williams who effectively managed The Beatles before Brian Epstein entered the frame. The Silver Beetles, as they were then still known, practiced and played here prior to honing their skills in Hamburg and going on to eventual world-domination. You may have heard of them.

Live music can still be enjoyed here and murals painted by callow local art students John Lennon and, original Beatles bassist, Stu Sutcliffe still decorate the walls.
