Swamp Soccer World Cup

7am alarm was painful this Saturday morning but had a fun surf, followed by an afternoon catching up with an old friend at the Touch Rugby World Cup. Watched New Zealand achieve a fairly substantial victory over the Scots team. Was planning to post an action shot of the touch match, however on the way home we randomly spied this alternative sporting event going on... swamp soccer. Not just any old swamp soccer, a world cup too! Look closely and you can see the muddy figures having an absolute whale of a time. Not to mention the tractor which appears to 'prepare' the pitch by ploughing up the grass. Technical and precise stuff this swamp soccer.

So, just a cheeky snap but it was a fairly random and unexpected sporting event to spot... Lovely rainy day for it too.
