Does lightening strike twice?

We certainly hope not!

See that pine tree, which is only 6 metres from the Mas? It was struck by lightening at just gone midnight last night, although we didn't know that's what had happened until this morning. All we heard was a deafening bang accompanied by a massive flash. We knew the strike was close... but not that close!

The tree has a split in the bark from more or less top to bottom, the strike burnt through the rolled up pool cover, travelled along the metal bar it's wrapped around and blew the box for the pool lights. Then it travelled into the pump house and blew up the electrics to do with the pool pump, and there's also something not quite right with the generator in the garage... so that will give Steve lots of repairing work to do. But it could have been a whole lot worse!
