Tiffin

Dinner in Roti, the only restaurant I have been to twice in one day, and I mean full on 'A La Carte' twice in one day. It is simply the best Indian cuisine I have ever tasted. Since it's move from Rose Street to Morison Street they have started doing authentic 'Tiffin', which may be equated in some ways to Tapas. You order, in our case 5, a number of small dishes of fine food which come to you in almost army canteen-like metal round canisters to share, and you get a plethora of taste sensations in one sitting.
We enjoyed Beef Vindaloo (24 hour Spiced & Braised Beef, tasty but not in the least bit fiery), Saag Gosh (Spinach and Lamb, especially nice!), Kalyani with Lal-Dal (today?s Fish, today it was Halibut, in Spiced Red Lentils, Mmmm), Murgh Norani (Chicken Marinated with Paneer), Aloo Shimila-Mirch ka Salon (Potato and Capsicum in Spicy Vegetable Sauce, with crispy Mathi) all accompanied by roti and paratha breads and a small but adequate serving of rice.
At home we managed a bottle of wine with the rather fetching monicker of 'Goats Do Roam In Villages' a South African take on the French standard 'Cotes Du Rhone Villages', bought purely for its cheeky name.
SAW turned out to be a lot less horrific than we expected, the only disappointment of the night.
