Stretching the Truth

The last day of school! Gordy gave Katie some massive boosts on the swing taking him right off the ground. Gordon's best friend Mikey self-propelled in the background.

Next year I'll have 4 children in the little school from Katie in P1 to Duncan in P7, approximately 5% of the pupils. If Katie is as happy through the school as Duncan has been then it'll be a wonderful 7 years. There's been a change of head teacher so we'll have to hope. We said goodbye to the P7s as well as 2 very popular teachers who were overwhelmed with good wishes - and chocolate.

Gordon, conversationally, on the way home, said "in the olden days they used to stretch children to make them grow didn't they?" To which I replied, "Eh, no. I hope not anyway. It would be very bad for your bones, especially your spine. Your spine attaches your head to your bum, and you can't do much without it." He thought for a bit and said, "You'd just have to lie down all the time wouldn't you? Well, they had special tools for stretching children in the olden days." So, there you are. Children were stretched in the old days. With special tools.

Nothing much else to report other than I have the house to myself, a weekend of adults being consensually irresponsible to look forward to and several bottles of Old Peculier to while away the evening.

Oh, and I put the wrong herbs in the expensive chicken. And I can't be bothered to remove them, so they're staying there. I then put the right herbs in after them to keep them company and well behaved so hopefully it'll be just fine.
