Hardy Little Flowers

The tiny flowers on this Lantana bush in my next door neighbor's yard must be awfully hardy to withstand the weather we have been experiencing. They get no relief from the sun from dawn to dusk.

They have had no water because their owners are snowbirds and have been gone since the end of April.

A while back, I said I'd explain why one doesn't sweat in AZ even when the temperature is 110 degrees. It has to do with the heat and humidity.

You actually do sweat. But it's so hot and dry that the perspiration evaporates as soon as you do. You always feel dry. That's why it's so important to always keep hydrated, even when you don't think you feel thirsty. You are constantly losing fluids without realizing it. It's easy to dehydrate and suffer from heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
