Adders
This morning on my walk I saw an adder. So why am I being blipped with horses? Well I'm being blipped with horses because Ann was screaming so much when she saw the adder, that by the time she'd got the camera out it had slithered away.
We walked along the lane, past the horses, and down onto the coastal path. We often meet a lady with four bassett hounds and she's always telling us that there are loads of adders about. We just think she's a 'nutty old woman'.
However today, we'd almost reached the coastal path when I saw something slithering in front of me. I was just about to have a good sniff at it when Ann yelled, 'MOLLY LEAVE'. I was thinking it might have been something tasty to eat or something to chase.
I was so surprised that Ann had stopped me from investigating that I just did what I was told. Ann was so pleased with me. She gave me loads of cuddles & told me I was a very good girl. Then she explained that adders bite.
It's a bit worrying though - I've been jumping around in all the long grass and ferns for the last 6 years and have never met an adder before.
The next time we meet 'bassett hound' lady we will tell her we've actually seen an adder!
