Hatching Shield Bugs

These newly hatched shield bugs were on the underside of a tree peony leaf in the garden. I love the little egg cases. They look so perfect and even seem to have a small catch on one side.

I'm not sure which type of shield bug these are.

While I was taking these photos there were about 6 red kites overhead. One of them was calling to the others. Amazing how common they are round us now.

Sad day at work as our old CEO said his goodbyes. Our CEO in waiting takes over officially on Monday. Could be an interesting week.
