Poppy tree

Walked into town along the river with my mum for a few bits but forgot my camera.
Little opportunity to take a photo when we got back. This is a poppy tree in the front garden (Romneya coulteri). I saw this plant for the first time many years ago in somebody's garden and had to find out what it was. It has beautiful grey-green foliage and huge crinkly white flowers with an egg-yellow centre. They look like giant fried eggs.

This plant suffered badly over our harsh winter so it is looking a bit sad this year.
