Meadow pipit

Went out early today, up onto the moors. It looked promising, but ended up quite overcast and very still. Apart from a couple of kestrels hunting on the edge, and a couple of hot air balloons hanging in the air over Hope Valley, there was very little around - except for hundreds of these young meadow pipits, perching on practically every sprig of heather. Not long now before the moors turn purple, as they start to bloom.
