Framing the Fort

The Rainy-Soaky

As promised, a blip from Saturday at the Scottish Open.

I took quite a few photos (as anyone following my Twitter Stream will know!) but this one is my favorite.

As the player in the foreground & the 2 behind are at the sane stage of lining up thrir putters, it looks a but like they're doing the Hokey-Cokey. And that's appropriate, as that's exactly what the tournament organisers seemed to be doing - take your golfers in, put your golfers out, in-out, in-out...I'm sure they felt like they'd been "shaken all about".

This is not meant in any way as a complaint - Inverness' much-vaunted (& usually reliable) "microclimate" turned upside down as most of the Atlantic Ocean fell out of the sky onto the course. Herculean efforts were undertaken to get it anywhere close to playable...and the organisers clearly wanted to give us some golf. In the end it wasn't to be... but please don't hold that against Castle Stuart or Inverness.

A massive thank you to the Marshals for their good-natured & honest helpfulness, and to the Groundstaff (& "SqueeGee Possee") for their incredibly hard work. We really appreciated it - and had a blast on Sunday thanks in no small part to your efforts

But Saturday belonged to the "Rainy-Soaky" ;-)
