Make the most of the sunshine

After a week of glorious sunshine, we have been warned to expect downpours later, so I thought I had better get out for a walk before it clouded over. I went to the Cammo Estate on the very west of the city and had a lovely time and met loads of ever so sweet doggies!

By the way, it is St. Swithun's Day. Swithun (or Swithin), died c. 862, was an Anglo-Saxon bishop of Winchester and subsequently patron saint of Winchester Cathedral. The name of Swithun is best-known today for a British weather lore proverb, which says that if it rains on Saint Swithun's day, 15 July, it will rain for 40 days.

St Swithun's day if thou dost rain
For forty days it will remain
St Swithun's day if thou be fair
For forty days 'twill rain nae mare

Finally, thank you to everyone who made comments on my 300th blip yesterday, it means a lot.
