Road race

Today was the Johnnycake Jog, a local road race so named because the route takes the runners down Johnnycake Ridge Road. Our yard boy, aka youngest grandson, ran in the five miler, a tough race because of the hills and extreme heat and humidity. We were standing near the finish line when I snapped this picture, and most of the runners were gasping, panting, and dripping. I actually saw one young woman smiling. I think she must have just caught sight of the finish line.

Weather report: High 80s and muggy with hotter and muggier (is that a word) predicted for the week ahead.
