9.00 a.m. Literary Arena, Latitude Festival, Somewhere In A Field In Suffolk.

Let the comedown commence. On a cool and drizzly morning, after a few hours sleep in an equally cold transit van, I made my through the mud and debris just one last time to the Literary Arena to collect the unsold stock. There's nothing like a festival site on breakdown day as everything remains shut and as you load boxes of books into a van you are accompanied by the sound of a septic tank truck clearing through Portaloo's in a kind of ceremonial last post.

But, let's remember the good times instead. The opportunity to meet, buy books from and see perform some wonderfully talented people. From Mr B The Gentlemen Ryhmer to C W Stoneking (who should be applauded for the fact that he wore all white to a very muddy festival) and the many, many more who don't performances on youtube. And to the water projection and those wonderful multicoloured sheep who I never got around to photographing. Oh, well. Maybe next year.
