Grey Heron

It has not been a good afternoon. Constantly dodging heavy showers and conditions mostly dull inbetween. I could have done with some brighter light so maybe I should have gone to the beach instead of a wooded lochside.

This grey heron was on an island in the loch (Gaddon Loch, Fife) so there was no chance of getting closer for a bigger image of the bird. I liked this because the heron conveniently stood against a darker part of the background. The only realistic alternative to blip was a rather plain dark brown moth sheltering under a leaf.

Some post-capture processing has been necessary because the original was very flat, dull and uninteresting.

Here's hoping for better weather tomorrow.
