Knapweed

Maumbury Rings, at the end of my road, is a good patch of open space for walking the dog, having a picnic, playing guitar or drinking a few cans of lager in the evening. It's an amphitheatre so is very good for open-air concerts and events like this (previous blip).
Where the grass isn't mown there are wild flowers, like these knapweeds, scabious, and wild carrot. Plenty of bees about today but not as many butterflies as I'd hoped, for the Big Butterfly Survey.
