La Grave

The Gite where we are staying is wonderful and has a wireless internet connection. On time flight from Leeds to Geneva and chauffeured to La Grave in a minibus. A completely painless journey. Arrived at dusk to see fresh snow on the mountains. It felt fantastic to see glaciers and be in the big mountains after way too long. The plan tomorrow is to cycle over the Col de Lauteret for lunch in Briancon and then follow the route of Le Tour up to the top of the Galibier. Then return down to find a suitable place to watch the race from. A little worried that it could be rather cold tomorrow. The weather seems to have broken here.

This is a view down the valley from our Gite, up which we will be climbing on Friday after doing Alpe d'Huez. It's not steep but I suspect it will be very hard after a long day out. Bring it on!
