Friends gave us a present of a magnificent vigorous chilli plant. Two of the chillies have started to turn red already.

Our own experience of growing chillies is one of unpredictability. One chilli from a plant can be reasonably mild; the next much firier. It lends an interesting element of surprise to your tea. A handy cup of water is a useful precaution.
