Small and white, clean and bright

Edelweiss, made famous by Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music. Oddly enough, a movie I have never seen. On the day that the family was going - some 40-odd years ago - I apparently did something bad and my Dad said I wasn't going. I seem to recall that he later felt guilty and treated me to a fish supper for my tea. Aah, the simple pleasures...... I'd rather have a fish supper than Julie Andrews any day.

Anyway, I divert. The Edelweiss in our Alpine bed seems to thrive and come up stronger each year. It's an odd looking plant; more like a blob of sheep's wool than a flower.
