Excuuuuuuse Me!

Two Lesser Goldfinches, (Carduelis psaltria) hanging out on our Cosmos. They love to eat the black seeds in the flowers and get quite antic when they're moving about on the stems. The one on the right was definitely letting the other one know about his territory. The one on the left seems humbled and surprised. He flew off without an argument.

Great to see the Cosmos providing food for birds, pollen for bees, and beauty for our front yard garden.
