Henry VIII Spurned

Today was the annual dance extravaganza in Bradford Centenary Square, which sees performers from around the world, and the locale, performing dance of different styles.

The closing act were Strange Fruit, a company from Melbourne, performing The Three Belles. To get a sense of what the act involves, you should look at this wider shot which shows all three perfomers, in aerial dancing mode, in front of City Hall.

I spotted the potential for this shot early on, and I took several of this performer in various alignments with the statue of Henry VIII that sits halfway up the building. That was more difficult than it sounds given that they were waving backward and forward on a pole. This was the pick of the bunch, but you'll hve to take my word on that.

An unexpected highlight of the event was bumping into Appertunity and yearofhappy, and if you click on their links, you'll find their unique interpretation of the days events.
