One of five a day

...or time travel on a budget.

On my wanderings today ..and I do a fair bit of that ...I looked back from the docks towards the city and saw this view. The arch forms the pedestrian gateway to the Forth Ports, a sign above (out of the frame) reads 'Constitution St. Exit' (see large)

Those familiar with the city will recognise, Nelson's monument, the National monument and the City Observatory on top of Calton Hill. Earlier blip from the hill beyond has the same landmarks visible too. In the foreground, a statue of Scots (national) poet Robert Burns stands, facing away.

Looking at this view, I wonder if Constitution Street and Leith Walk (beyond) once formed a major thoroughfare between the port and the city.

History ponderings over ...and back to the present ...new DSLR (D7000) is on order. *filled with trepidation at the thought of credit card bill*

Hope your week is going well :))
