Looks Good To Me

At the Oyster Bar

After running a couple of errands downtown this afternoon, C and I found ourselves across the street from Bayou on Bay as the Downtown Sounds weekly concert was being set up. We decided to go to the Bayou Oyster Bar for happy hour while waiting for the concert to start. I had six delicious oysters on the half shell at a dollar apiece -- that's hard to beat. C is not fond of naked oysters but enjoyed the tiger prawns. We ended by sharing a plate of tapenade-topped baguette slices. It was a great light dinner.

While we were finishing our drinks this couple came in and sat at the bar. Sensing a bliportunity, I just had to satisfy my curiosity by asking about their colorful coordinated clothing. They (Carla and Gary) are from the southern part of the state, and were visiting their twin daughters here in Bellingham. On arrival they'd been given the hats and shirts and told to wear them. I thought they looked great. One of their daughters is the organizer of the Downtown Sounds concerts.
