Natural velcro

Today's outing was to Aberlady Nature Reserve, just the Edinburgh side of Gullane, where we walked out as far as Gullane Point. Plenty of photo opportunities, although it was not as clear as last Sunday on Gullane Beach, but what caught my eye on the way back to the car was the natural velcro in the form of some burrs. Indeed, these are the inspiration for velcro, if wiki (and Mr A) are to be believed.

A quiet afternoon beckons, followed by another visit to George Square Gardens for a last blast of the jazz festival for this year.
