In passing

Red and Blue

Eternity

I walk the earth
On sticky feet,
Mixing patches of mire
With grassed plains,
Mountain winds
With pouring rain,
Corals from the shallow lake
With abandoned desert sand,
And smoking seas with
Mangroves in marshy land...
My feet don't know
Where they are
And sometimes,
Neither do I.

But as the evening draws nigh,
And worry, like a quiver of arrows
Bleeds the farthest reaches of my mind,
A sudden nightingale
Begins its song
Stirring strings within me
I never thought existed;
And I become
A spectator to myself
As I'm filled with wonder,
Knowing now,
That every moment in time
Does not lie within eternity,
But eternity lies
Within each moment.
