Demolition Day

Headed over to Fife today to watch the blowdown; everywhere was packed, but luckily I knew a spot that would be quiet, and true enough we had it to ourselves so set up about an hour and a half before.

Almost missed them being blown up as was watching the Tay Bridge since traffic was supposedly being stopped 10-15 minutes before the blowdown. In the end it wasnt closed but a rolling roadblock.

Quite pleased with this shot. Best viewed large.

Drove past afterwards to have a look. They fell exactly as planned. The road was clear, lots of white dust everywhere. I was surprised by how little rubble there actually was in the end. The Ardler multi's left far larger heaps compared to these. I've uploaded more shots to my flickr page. Have a look at this shot to see what i mean about how little rubble. I took this from the same spot as Friday nights shot for comparison.

Quite a few video clips already uploaded by people to YouTube. This is probably the best so far.

Also came across some guys shots on flickr taken from the 13th floor a while back. Gives a good idea of the views people living in the multis used to have.

End of an era.
