Red admiral at Holme Fen

Holme Fen was looking so beautiful as my friend C and I walked
through it this afternoon. There must have been a dozen red admirals and several peacocks on the hemp agrimony and I was like a kid in a sweetshop trying to photograph them. All around there was purple loosestrife complemented by a lovely bright yellow flower whose name I do not know. The ferns were at their best and there were reeds, rosebay willowherb and the blackberries were beginning to ripen, too. A great afternoon walking in a wonderful place. We go there often and follow the seasons as they unfold.

For the record: 25C, warm and sunny
