Orchard on 1 August 2011

This shows part of the orchard and was taken on 1 August for comparison with other photographs, which will be taken on the first of each month and posted here to show how things change throughout the changing seasons.

It also shows some of the deliberately unmown wild parts of the garden left to encourge wildlife and some of the bee hives. We have a wide variety of fruit trees in the orchard including, five varieties of apple, two cherry trees, two pear trees and two plum trees. We also have three nut trees, a Sweet Chestnut, a Cob Nut and a Walnut, although not all of these are visible here.

This image was taken at 0612 hours Greenwich Mean Time or 0712 hours British Summer Time.

However, all of the photographs will not all be taken at this early hour as it will be too dark during some months. I may also take another blip of a different part of the garden on the fifteenth of every month, again for comparison to show how the garden changes throughout the year.
