The sun came back again, so we went off to try and spot the Ospreys at Loch Garten. My mere 300mm lens was no match for the pros with their 800mm zooms, covered in camouflage material, so no blips of the Ospreys I'm afraid. There is a hide a short distance from the nest, with cameras, binoculars and mics. Two young birds and the mother were around the nest. They are expected to fly off to West Africa within the next three weeks. The female has returned to this nest for the last eight years to rear her young.

The hide also had various feeder points nearby, and this colourful young Great Spotted Woodpecker kindly posed for my Blip.

We then sat in the sun beside Loch Garten and also had a walk around Loch Mallachie. So peaceful, calm water and the smell of the pine forest. I love this part of Scotland.
