Cornflowers

A common sight in the corn fields when I was a child, cornflowers are now much rarer. These were growing at the edge of a field in St Cyr de Salerne in Normandy, France.

In France cornflowers are the symbol of the 11th November 1918 armistice and remembrance just as are poppies in the United Kingdom.
