What A Day

This morning the Cygnet and I left SWMBO at home (she had a dentists' appointment) and headed off to The Gyle for a 'Bookworm' session of songs and stories.

We arrived and found that is wasn't taking place upstairs in a quiet area as advertised but was on the floor in the main concourse outside Boots.
Not exactly condusive with a curious young lad getting involved with the story teller.
And certainly not condusive with a spinal injury trying to deal with an increasingly distracted, fractious and wriggly young lad.
After half an hour neither of us could take it anymore and had to leave.
All the young mothers who had given me strange looks when we arrived were probably sniggering at the old man who couldn't cope.

After a nap (him - not me) and lunch I took the son-in-laws car to a bodywork and paintshop specialist for a 2nd quote on the damage to it.
That came in at about half the cost of the dealerships quote.
I know where I would be going.

There was a stop off on the way home for coffee and a chat with a mate and her hubby.

Later the Cygnet walked to him mother a couple of times - much to his delight as well his mothers.
I think that by the end of the week he will be near enough walking rather than crawling.

Sorry about the quality of the blip ........... it was taken on my phone (which is rubbish at taking pictures)
