Sunderland

This is Sunderland. Whitburn beach, a hop skip and a jump from the city and the place I once lived.

We decided to break up the journey home with a stop off somewhere. We should probably have done it further North say near the half way point over the Scottish border, but figured we would go to the North East and see a few places that bring back so many memories.

Today was another very warm day, not a great deal of Sunshine but it was certainly above the 25 degree mark. That said, this picture shows the North Sea and I don't need to dip my toe in the water to know that it would have been bloody freezing.

They are a hardy bunch the mackems!

Love the image of the two kids at the bottom right of this picture, they look like two best friends or siblings to one another having a great time.

I write this I am sat in a Hotel room, We were lucky its a suite that has two giant LCD TV'S on either side of a partitioned wall. It's like being in Curry's.
